Baglio is a pretty peaceful resort nestled in the vineyards. In arrival it was unclear how to find reception from the car park but once found the staff were polite and helpful. Our room was advertised as having a balcony but no rooms have a balcony except the mountain suite which has a terrace. Our room was spacious with hanging space but no drawers. We stayed for four days and the Sky Bar and Swimming Pool are were both closed. The views from the Sky Bar are amazing but it is a long walk. The wine tasting and restaurant were excellent and beautiful but the menu was the same for starter and dessert. Wine pairing was great value but the a la carte was much pricier. The staff were excellent, friendly and very attentive. Breakfast was basic with bread, cheese and meats or pastry cake and fruit. The orange juice was delicious. We stayed for four days which was too long, one or two nights would be enough as nothing to do other than eat and drink. Good base for Salemi, Trapani, Erice Nubia and Marsala. We did get eaten alive by mosquitos and the birds are very noisy, we loved the birds but they may disturb you.

The hotel is well located and superbly designed and elegantly decorated in a beautiful countryside, and the views are stunning. The distance from interesting sites is manageable and every drive is a nice experience. It is a place where one can enjoy genuine Sicilian setting and hospitality. The rooms are clean, spacious, well equipped, offering plenty of light. The swimming pool is large and well designed. The breakfast buffet offers a range of products of good quality. The staff is always professional, courteous and helpful. The bed was not comfortable; its structure was wobbly and creaking at the slightest move, and the mattress was of poor quality. This was a big disappointment in a hotel of this quality. The light in the bathroom was poor and not sufficient for shaving and make-up. The restaurant was also a disappointment. While the menu is inspiring, the servings are minimal (as examples that have been validated by other guests: a fish soup with only a couple of small fish pieces swimming in the rich broth; a very dry duck breast). Also, the radio music during dinner time seems to be out of place.

We stayed here at the end of the season and had the place largely to ourselfs. The staff had obviously been reduced so service was not the best but did not really impact our stay. The location is good, a short drive to major sites. Its also very peaceful and a beautiful location. Our room was large and comfortable but the windows are small - but there was a beautiful view. We ate one night in the resturant which was spectacular five star event. We had ond day by the beautiful pool before bad weather moved in. The only downside to this property is the lack of food options. It would have been nice to have simpler meal option.

We went for the cheese and wine tasting. Very well priced and they don’t skimp on the wine! Roberto and the team at the wine tasting were fabulous. Roberto was fun, informative and has so much energy, you couldn’t help but smile and laugh with him. The wine was delicious and so was the food. The view was to die for. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
